 The Updated Shinigami Guide
« Thread Started on Jan 30, 2009, 9:50pm »

Welcome to the Shinigami Guide, where you find what you need to get to the Shinigami Teacher, pick the zanpakuto you want, and learn when and how you can acquire or master your skills. For starters, you will need to find a way to get killed by an NPC (The easiest being to get 500 reiatsu power and the ability to see invisible souls so that they will attack you.) Then you can either take the time to train, or go get a soul burial to be sent out into the middle of nowhere.

From the random place you end up, you should take the path to the right, and follow it all the way up to where you will run into Jidanbou at the gates. If you meet the requirements (500 reiatsu power), he will tell you that you are stronger and not interfere in you entering. From there, you walk up past the squad four house, and head for the one that reads “Teacher”.

The Shikai and Bankai Levels are 65 and 150.

The Zanpakuto

As you know, each Shinigami holds a zanpakuto, which allows them to release and gain powers much different from any other characters in the game. This section will tell you how to get each.

Toshiro Hitsugaya
Choice: Ranged -> Reiatsu -> Shooting Ice
Stats used: Attack and Reiatsu Power
Shikai Attack: Normal and Shoot Dragon.
How to Master: Shoot Dragon
Hitsugaya’s shikai does not change in appearance, but allows the user to shoot an ice dragon that continues even when it hits something, freezing all players and NPCs it hits.
Bankai Attack: Normal and Shoot Dragon.
Aside from a small boost to attack (may have been removed), Hitsugaya’s Bankai is also capable of firing two different dragons. The Shoot Dragon command that is based off of reiatsu, but the regular attack which launches a dragon based off attack power. As well, you get some kick ass wings and a tail.
Way to Master: Attack

Ichigo Kurosaki
Choice: Ranged -> Attack -> Speed and Power
Stats used: Attack
Shikai Attack: Getsuga Tenshou
Ichigo’s Shikai doesn’t ever wear off, meaning it comes automatically mastered to those who are even non-rankers. The Getsuga Tenshou uses 2k reiatsu per fire but hits for a nice bit of damage based on your Attack.
How to Master: Auto-Mastery.
Bankai Attack: Kuroi Getsuga Tenshou and Shunpo Upgrade
When you gain Bankai, your Getsuga Tenshou turns black, you get a small multiplier boost on your attack power, and your shunpo leaves an afterimage of you for a few moments. Also, you can run that much faster.
Way to Master: Attacking NPCs

Zaraki Kenpachi
Choice: Melee -> Slow, But Powerful Attacks
Stats used: Attack and Defense
Shikai Attack: 1.5x Attack and Defense Boost
Zaraki’s Shikai creates a small aura of yellow energy that resembles his battle with Ichigo in the Anime and Manga, increasing your attack and defense by one and a half times their base. One of the less popular swords however due to the cost of moving very slowly, and losing the ability to shunpo while sword is released.
How to Master: Killing Other Players
Bankai Attack: 3x Attack and Defense Boost
The same aura grows bigger as the boosts you gain from the bankai double the benefits of the shikai, same flaws however.
Way to Master: Killing other players or NPCs.
(NOTE ABOUT ZARAKI – Zan may become able to master by killing NPCs and Players. Not sure if that’s available at the moment)

Ikkaku Madarame
Choice: Melee -> Powerful Weapons
Stats used: Attack
Shikai Attack: 3-radious normal attack
How to Master: Attacking NPCs
With his Shikai, Ikkaku gains the ability to attack up to three panels away from himself, even going so far as to knock away the opponent with each successful hit. In this form, the user is thought to be unaffected by Sai.
Bankai Attack: 3.5x Attack Bonus
Like Zaraki, Ikkaku’s zan will slow him down when he reaches the stage of bankai, this compensates for the insane boost in attack power, that makes Ikkaku a very formidable close range fighter. As well, the user cannot shunpo.
Way to Master: Attacking NPCS

Kisuke Urahara
Choice: Ranged -> Reiatsu -> Power and Defense
Stats used: Reiatsu Power and Attack
Shikai Attack: Blood Mist Shield and Reiki
You gain the ability to use Reiki, a speedy bolt of red reiatsu that deals damage equal to three times your attack, and you acquire the Blood Mist Shield, which you can place in front of yourself to defend you from most attacks.
How to Master: Attacking

Ichimaru Gin
Choice: Melee -> Long Reach
Stats used: Attack
Shikai Attack: Extending Sword
Unlike many of the swords in the game, aside from Ikkaku’s shikai and Renji’s shikai, Gin’s has the ability to extend, being the longest radious with a single slash. The damage dealt by the hit is twice your base attack power.
How to Master: Attacking Air
Bankai Attack: Area of Effect Attack
An unique bankai for an unique zanpakuto. Gin’s bankai hits a 5x5 radious attack, making it much harder to dodge than most attacks, hitting for the attack power with no boosts.
Way to Master: Attacking

Momo Hinamori
Choice: Ranged -> Reiatsu -> Pink Blasts
Stats used: Reiatsu Power
Shikai Attack: Reiatsu Blast and Unique Byakurai
Instead of the regular attack, Hinamori gets the ability to volley pink fireballs towards the opponents, dealing a nice amount of damage. The secondary ability of the Zan is a pink byakurai, that is unique to Hinamori.
How to Master: Attacking Walls
Bankai Attack: None

Renji Abarai
Choice: Ranged -> Attack -> Large Striking Distance
Stats used: Attack and Reiatsu Power
Shikai Attack: 5 – 7 Raidous attack
Renji’s shikai becomes much like his shikai in the anime, extending with each swing to hit up to 3 times per attack if the opponent is close enough.
How to Master: Attacking.
Bankai Attack: Movement and Higga Zekkou
Like in the show, when Renji activates his bankai he can then control the movements of Zabimaru and strike the opponent several times, or damage them with the reiatsu binding the sword. Now those abilities are in your hands. Instead of walking with the arrows, you move by clicking and guide Zabimaru with the arrows.
Way to Master: Attacking

Byakuya Kuchiki
Choice: Ranged -> Reiatsu -> Thousands of Petals
Stats used: Reiatsu Power
Shikai Attack: Petals
Byakuya’s shikai is just like in the show, a series of petals taking over for the blade. Clicking will move the petals instead of shunpo.
How to Master: Moving the Petals on Enemies
Bankai Attack: More Petals
Just like the Shikai, Byakuya’s bankai creates petals.. just more of them. As well, when Bankai is mastered, you get the Scene of Massacre.
Way to Master: Moving Petals on Enemies

Jiroubou
Choice: Ranged -> Attack -> Hundreds of Tiny Blades
Stats used: Attack
Shikai Attack: Slashing Shuriken
Jirobou is thought to be the opposite of Byakuya, as he uses attack but in a manner that is very similar. Instead of deadly petals, he controls several shuriken which can damage the opponent upon contact. Like Byakuya, where you click is where the petals move.
How to Master: Moving Blades on Enemies
Bankai Attack: None

Yumichika Ayasegawa
Choice: Miscellaneous -> Energy Absorbtion
Stats used: Attack
Shikai Attack: Cyclone Slash
Yumichika’s zan makes the sword become a little circled on the edge for the regular release, but when the Shikai is mastered, the sword will split into 4 blades on the hilt and gains the attack called “Cyclone Slash”, draining the health of those damaged by the blade and giving it to you. As well, there is a small boost to attack power.
How to Master: Attack
Bankai Attack: None

Mayuri Kurotsuchi
Choice: Miscellaneous -> Poison
Stats used: Attack
Shikai Attack: None
The Shikai for this Zanpakuto is utterly useless, having no special abilities except for a change in the appearance of your zan.
How to Master: Attacking
Bankai Attack: Spit Poison
Unlike the useless Shikai, the entire zan pays off in the finish. You get a speed boost, as well as the representation of Ashisogi Jizo around you, that spits poison a total of 3 tiles forward when you decide to attack, this poison slowing down the opponents.
Way to Master: Attacking.

Kira Izuru
Choice: Melee -> Immobilization
Stats used: Attack
Shikai Attack: All Direction Attack That Slows Enemies
Kira’s Shikai will make the sword’s edge become a square hook, but allows you to attack in all directions at once around you (north, west, south, east, northeast, northwest, southeast, southwest), slowing anything down that it hits.
How to Master: Attacking NPCS
Bankai Attack: None

Rukia Kuchiki
Choice: Ranged -> Reiatsu -> Freezing Opponents
Stats used: Attack and Reiatsu Power
Shikai Attack: Tsukishiro
Rukia gains very little benefits in the the Shikai stage, as all she gets is a random freezing attack for her regular ability, which will come up as <Name>: Tsukishiro!
How to Master: Attack
Bankai Attack: Tsukishiro and Hakuren
To top off the reappearance of the Tsukishiro, Rukia’s Bankai also features a .5x attack boost, and the new ability called Hakuren, a reiatsu based icicle attack that will freeze and damage everything it comes into contact with.
Way to Master: Hakuren

Kaname Tousen
Choice: Miscellaneous -> Blinding Opponents
Stats used: N/A
Shikai Attack: Blinding Ring
On top of your regular attack, you shoot rings that have the potential to blind anyone that it hits for a short period of time.
How to Master: Attacking
Bankai Attack: Blinding Circle
After gaining Bankai, the Tousen users have the ability to create a giant black ring that will blind anyone who is foolish enough to get caught within it, or move into it. The only way for them to see is to kill the owner of the circle, to push the owner out of the ring, or to hit the owner. The last one giving you sight for only a second or two. Of course, the owner can always disable it. But why would they?
Way to Master: Attacking

The Shinigami Abilities:

Attack Name: Sai.
This move will paralyze the enemy in his place for a short amount of time. Always note, this is determined by the amount of Reiatsu Power you have, and will not always last forever on other players. This also has no effect on NPCs.

Attack Name: Byakurai.
This is possibly the 1 and only attack that Shinigami possess that can hit something and keeps on going.
Its power is dependent on your reiatsu power, hitting precisely how much you have, unless your opponent has a higher reiatsu power. So practically, Your Reiatsu Power with your opponent’s subtracted. If your opponent has more, then you do a mere 1.

Attack Name: Shakkahou.
A move favored by the NPC Shinigami, and very powerful indeed. The Shakkahou fires a ball of pure reiatsu towards the opponent faster than normal walking speed. It takes about 1200 reiatsu power to gain this attack.

Attack Name: Soukatsui.
This move is favored by {NPC}Shinigami Lieutenants. This move is a bit harder to approach, as it’s the best for now. The attack is a blue Reiatsu ball approaching the enemy with greater power and speed than the Shakkahou, noting that it’s stronger.

Move Name: Rikujokurou.
This is the best Binding spell yet.
Once the move has been used, 6 light blades will come at the enemy, slowing them down. The only way to escape is to wait for time to pass, so the opponent's Reiatsu will be over or you'll get released.

Attack Name: Raikouhou.
This one is the strongest Kido move yet. The player will sent a lightning wave at the enemy, doing incredibly high amount of damage, according to the user's Reiatsu Power. Despite its lack of speed, many players have adapted to firing the technique from close range.

I don't know what you are pointing at but if it's at bankai, Yumi doesn't have one.

We don't have that here so it's useless to point the real attacks name...
